Jeffree Star Cosmetics Mystery Box Review

by

My one and only black friday purchased arrived yesterday and here’s what I ordered.

Jeffree Star, former Myspace star turned Youtube icon and makeup mogul, released a mystery box on Black Friday 2018. Star was named Forbes’ 5th highest paid Youtube star of 2018, pulling in $18 million from Youtube alone. According to Forbes, Jeffree Star Cosmetics rakes in $100 million plus in sales annually. (For those curious, the highest paying YouTube star is a 7-year boy.)

Personally, I love a good deal so I chose the smallest of the boxes at $30 with free shipping. While some people on the internet have expressed disappointment in the boxes contents (#Can’tRelate), I personally am thrilled with all of my items. Here is what I got:

-Skin Frost Highlighter in ‘Mint Condition’ valued at $29.00.

-Three Velour Liquid Lipsticks in ‘I’m Royalty’, ‘Flamethrower’, ‘Can’t Relate’ valued at $18.00 each.

-Lip Ammunition in ‘Icecream Blvd’, valued at $18.00.

-Jeffree Star Cosmetics Popsocket, not for sale on website but around $10 value.

Total Value: $111

When buying a mystery box from Jeffree Star Cosmetics you have to know that he has some wild colors in his Velour Liquid Lipstick range. This is something that distinguishes his brand from others in a saturated makeup market. I even joked with a friend that I was probably going to receive six yellow liquid lipsticks when buying this mystery box- His Summer 2016 collection featured a bright yellow liquid lipstick aptly named ‘Queen Bee’. So to my surprise this box was fairly tame and all items that I will use. I am particularly excited to try the Skin Frost in ‘Mint Condition’ so I can, as the kids say, “Glow for the Gods”. His liquid lipsticks are also frequently used as eyeliner which is something I will have to try with the beautiful purple shade, ‘I’m Royalty’. ‘Drug Lord’, his iconic white liquid lipstick is used as an eyeshadow base and eyeliner among popular drag queens and makeup artists. Overall, this was 100% worth the value, plus who wouldn’t want to know what’s in Jeffree’s box?
